Cotococha Lodge ofrece 22 espaciosas cabañas, construidas acorde a la arquitectura tradicional de la zona, en armonía con el entorno circundante del bosque húmedo Tropical. Todas las cabañas poseen baño privado con agua caliente, un pequeño mirador privado con sillas de descanso o hamacas para el relax de nuestros visitantes, a la vez poder disfrutar de la vista y los sonidos de la Amazonía Ecuatoriana. Para mantener la magia de la Amazonia usamos lámparas de aceite para iluminar las cabañas, no contamos con luz eléctrica para no causar impacto en la flora y fauna, pero se puede recargar las baterías en la recepción.

 Itinerary

Day 1

The adventure in the jungle begins with the arrival to the Lodge in the afternoon. A delicious refreshing drink will welcome you at the same time you will receive an explanatory talk about Cotococha Lodge by the Manager of the Cabañas. After the long journey we have rest and relaxation time in the cabins or in the pool and jacuzzi. After dinner they will have a small meeting at the campfire to coordinate all the activities of the following day.

Day 2

Early enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then we will prepare our equipment as boots and water ponchos to undertake our adventure. We take the canoe of the Cabañas and we go downstream, crossing the wonderful Ecuadorian forest in the waters of the imposing Napo River. We will arrive to Misahualli, where we will stop for about 30 minutes to carry out the respective check in the Marina! We continue our route through the Napo, until reaching the Arajuno River. Here we will visit the Amazonian Animal Rescue Center. This is a center specialized in the rescue of wild animals for their conservation and reinsertion in their natural habitat.

Here we will observe great variety of species such as toucans, parrots, parrots, monkeys of various kinds, tigrillos, capibaras, and much more. After this visit, we will have a picnic lunch on the river bank. Here we will also have the opportunity to swim in the River or simply enjoy the beauty of the place. We will start our return to the cabins, to prepare and learn the process of artisan chocolate in the Lodge and taste it with delicious fruits. In the evening after dinner, we have the meeting of everyone in the campfire area to know the activities of the following day and to delight us with the drinks that they offer in the bar.

Day 3

In the morning after our breakfast, we went canoeing upriver. After about 10 minutes of travel we arrive at one of the banks of the Napo, where we descend to start an entertaining walk of about 40 minutes, observing the flora and fauna of the secondary forest.

At the end of our tour we find a beautiful waterfall, called Las Latas. Here we can enjoy a refreshing swim in its waters and relax enjoying the beauty of the environment, which mixes the sounds of the jungle with the force of waterfall, making the place a spectacular site. We return to lunch at the cabins.

In the afternoon we will have 2 options, we will visit a Quichua family, which will show us their ancient ancestral customs about how they wash the gold on the banks of the River, the elaboration of their traditional ceramics, the preparation of their typical chicha de Yuca and the Use of his hunting techniques with the blowgun.

We can also take a walk in the secondary forest, which protects the forests in this area. In this walk through the forest we will find several species of medicinal plants and insects of all kinds. With a bit of luck we will be able to observe monkeys by the trees and great amount of birds, that will be detailed by our native guide. At night dinner and time at the campfire.

Day 4

We will have breakfast. Morning to enjoy the pool, jacuzzi. Then we will prepare for the return trip. Check-out 11am

Day 3

After breakfast we take our rubber boots and water ponchos for a day of trekking through the secondary forest. We will walk through the forest, where we will find all the secrets of the Amazon rainforest, its amazing medicinal plants, the same ones that will be detailed by our native guide with its usefulness and the way in which the inhabitants of the jungle used it ancestor.

The birds accompany our whole journey with their songs and flutter. After one or three hours, we stop to have an exquisite box lunch in the middle of the jungle, enjoying the fascinating environment. After resting for a few minutes we will take our return trip on a different route, observing more of the forest’s wildlife. We will arrive at the lodge in the afternoon. At night we will have dinner and time at the campfire.

Day 4

At the end of our tour we find a beautiful waterfall, called Las Latas. Here we can enjoy a refreshing swim in its waters and relax enjoying the beauty of the environment, which mixes the sounds of the jungle with the force of waterfall, making the place a spectacular site.

Upon return we enlist for an entertaining adventure on the River. We took the buoys, and we embarked on them downriver. We will have as an hour of descent by the river Napo, always with the company of our guide and the security of having the canoe as assistance. After about an hour of descent, depending on how fast one goes by the river, we arrive at the Lodge to taste a delicious lunch.

In the evening dinner and campfire time. We will start our return to the cabins. We will stop at one of the indigenous communities that are on the banks of the Napo River. Here we will visit a Quichua family, which will show us their ancient ancestral customs about how they wash the gold on the banks of the River, the elaboration of their traditional ceramics, the preparation of their typical chicha de Yuca and the use of their hunting techniques With the blowpipe. After this interesting excursion into the Quichua culture, we return to the Lodge enjoying a short tour of the secondary jungle.

Day 5

We will have breakfast. Morning to enjoy the pool and jacuzzi. Then we will prepare for the return trip. Check-out 11am
